Sequencing is the whole design
A tunnel round only works if each hole fires into the free face created by the previous one. Delay scatter turns a designed sequence into an approximate one, with overbreak, vibration and poor pull as consequences.
Verification before the round
Measuring a sample of detonators from each batch gives the real delay distribution rather than the catalogue value.
