Glossary
The vocabulary used across this site.
- V.O.D
- Velocity of Detonation. Speed of the detonation front through an explosive charge, expressed in meters per second.
- Chronograph
- Instrument measuring very short time intervals between events. Kontinitro chronographs resolve to 0.01 microsecond.
- Shock tube
- Small diameter plastic tube with a thin reactive coating, used to transmit an initiation signal without detonating itself.
- Delay scatter
- Spread of actual firing times around the nominal delay of a detonator batch.
- Deflagration
- Subsonic combustion propagation, as opposed to detonation. Measured over durations up to minutes rather than microseconds.
- EasyProbe
- Developed by Kontinitro ready-to-use optical probe system for fast preparation of measurement positions on site.
