Explomet™ 4 Dual Series
One platform, three configurations, for V.O.D and detonator delay measurement, or both.
The Explomet 4 Series brings the whole Kontinitro measuring range onto a single platform. The Explomet 2T+, the Explomet 3 and the Detomet 2.0 are all superseded by one instrument, offered in three configurations.
The hardware and measurement chain are shared, and the configuration is selected at the time of ordering according to the measurements to be performed.
- Dual configuration: velocity of detonation and detonator delay in one instrument
- Explomet configuration: velocity of detonation only
- Detomet configuration: detonator delay only
- Portable or suitcase format
- Time resolution down to 0.01 microsecond

Explomet™ 4 Dual
The Dual configuration carries both measurement modes in a single instrument. It is the configuration that replaces, on its own, the Explomet 2T+, the Explomet 3 and the Detomet 2.0.
Switching between velocity of detonation and detonator delay requires no additional hardware: the same optical inputs and the same time base serve both modes.
- Velocity of detonation and detonator delay in one instrument
- Replaces the Explomet 2T+, the Explomet 3 and the Detomet 2.0
- Portable format with 6 optical inputs, or suitcase format with 8
- One time base, one measurement chain, no additional hardware

Explomet™ 4
The Explomet configuration measures time intervals between optical fiber inputs without requiring any predefined triggering sequence. It accepts between 2 and 6 optical inputs and records time intervals down to 0.01 microsecond.
Input position X1 can be triggered either optically through a fiber optic cable or electrically through a dedicated trigger input. Once the distances between optical positions are entered, the instrument automatically calculates the Velocity of Detonation in meters per second.
- V.O.D measurement in explosive cartridges
- V.O.D measurement in blast holes
- Bottom-to-top detonation verification
- Shock tube timing analysis
- General explosive performance testing
Section
Detomet™ 4
The Detomet configuration has been completely redesigned and integrated into the Explomet 4 platform. Input X1 starts five independent counters simultaneously, while five optical inputs stop each counter individually.
Measurements are displayed in milliseconds, with a reading resolution down to the microsecond.
- Electric detonator delay measurement
- Shock tube detonator delay measurement
- Surface delay measurement on blast fields
- Analysis of firing sequences
- Delay verification between successive explosions
